Doing this allows me to give you a gallery of images or a film that tells a story, rather than just aiming to get a few "perfect" images. I want your photos + films to have feeling, to be fun, and to be uniquely you.
I approach my sessions with the intent to capture your unique personality. You won't often (or ever) hear me say "everyone look at the camera and smile!" Instead, I observe and capture what comes naturally.

family stories
This session is perfect for parents + children, expecting parents, or even just couples!. It can take place on location outdoors, or in your home. The session will last approximately one-hour and you will receive the full gallery of 50+ digital images. Please inquire for extended family sessions.

Family Story
book session
A newborn session can be at the place of birth shortly after baby arrives, or in the comfort of your home within the first month. I allow up to two hours for this session for breaks to feed and change (although I love documenting all those in-between moments, too!). Overall this session is meant to be slow and comfortable.

Like family sessions, I let the senior take the lead, and love to collaborate on ideas of ways to include their unique personality. We can keep it short and sweet, or you can add on time, locations and outfits to fit your personality. Please reach out to chat about custom pricing.
Senior Story
book session
This session lasts 2-3 hours and can take place at your home, or we can adventure somewhere together. We will collaborate on ideas to make the most of your session, and you will receive an approximately 3-minute film.

Family Film
If you'd like both photos and a family film, this is the package for you! Your session will likely last between 2-3 hours, and you will receive a gallery of 25+ images alongside an approximately 3-minute film.

Film and Photos
I love nothing more than families adding things to the session that are special to them! This could be a meaningful location, or an activity that is part of your life. Maybe your child has a toy they can't let go of; bring it along! Maybe your late grandmother lovingly made you a quilt, let's include that. These little pieces of your story will have so much impact when reliving memories through your photos.

Just be yourselves. This is so important. I want you to come to your session with an open mind and heart. I know it’s hard to relax in front of a camera, but I promise we will make the session fun! The best images will happen when you let your guard down and BE YOURSELF. Also, kids will be kids, and I'm here for it! Don't worry if they're cooperating, just embrace the chaos, follow their lead and I promise it will turn out beautifully!
Comfortable
The goal of my photo + video sessions is to capture your personalities, your connection and your story. I want to document the fleeting moments for you to relive in a month, a year, ten years. I will capture unposed moments, but they are intentional. I will adjust and prompt and pose if I see something I love or something I want to change. But, I will also capture spontaneous moments in between.

The Experience
I love to travel! Any fees for airfare, accommodations and/or transportation can be added to your session fee. Reach out if you'd like to discuss!
Will you travel outside of San Diego?
Delivery for photo sessions is between 2-4 weeks, and family films turnaround is up to 8 weeks. Each session/film is hand-edited. I want your images to be as perfect as possible, and that takes a little time!
What is the turnaround time?
Engagements, absolutely! Weddings are not typically in my rotation, but depending on the circumstances, I am open to it! Feel free to reach out to chat with me about it!
Do you photograph engagements + weddings?
It depends on the session, but honestly not much preparation is necessary! We will collaborate on a location that will work well for you, and I'm happy to assist with outfits if you'd like! Otherwise just show up and be yourself!

Do you offer gift certificates?
We enjoyed our session with Jolene so much. She is so personable, professional, and captured the sweetest moments. Our boys had such a good time exploring the location we chose, and the photos turned out so beautiful and natural. This session was our favorite by far, and we cannot wait to work with Jolene again!
