February: One Roll, One Day // San Diego Photographer

As promised, here is the February blog post for my One Roll, One Day photography project! For those of you who missed last month’s post, I’m working on a photography project with a group of fellow film photographers where we choose a day each month and shoot one roll of film to document that day. We’ve joined together to support, inspire, and hold eachother accountable each month! It has been fun to get a glimpse into everyone’s everyday, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the year pans out!

This month I chose to document President’s Day when all 3 kids were home all day. It was a pretty typical day; relaxed and low pressure. I just kept my camera handy and grabbed it when we started doing something new. I’d shoot a frame or two or three and then we kept going about our day. It’s a lot of fun seeing the images of our day all together. On a day where I’m not documenting in photographs, these things all separately just feel like normal, mundane activities. But seeing how I slowed down to really “see” each thing throughout our day puts a different perspective on it all! It somehow feels more special, and fun, and memorable!

I hope you will follow along with this San Diego photographer (me), but don’t forget to check out the other great film projects from my friends in other areas, too! To follow the blog circle, click here to see the next post from my fellow film-shooting friend Sonia!

  1. Man I love your work Jolene, and this is no exception. Such gorgeous light and colors. And congrats on the new addition!

  2. I just love your images, they always put a smile on my face. And wow, do you actually have a lemon tree? Those colors! I love the sunny yellow, added some much needed color to my day today 🙂

    1. Thank you Sonia! It’s an orange tree, but the oranges actually need to riped a little bit more, they were a little tart still, so kinda like lemons! haha
